Dunces At The White House Accidentally Promote Satire Article Slamming Trump’s Budget

In your hourly “I HAZ A DUMB” White House moment, the 1600 Daily website has accidentally touted a satire article which sarcastically praises Trump’s budget proposal — and at the time of this publication, the article is still on the website.

The satire article, published by the Washington Post, which was posted to the opinion section of the website has a misleading headline, “Trump’s budget makes perfect sense and will fix America, and I will tell you why.” But anyone who took three seconds to read the content would understand this is not a positive review of the budget, which drastically cuts the Environmental Protection Agency, the state department, children’s school lunch programs, and slashes federal funding for Meals on Wheels.

Alexandra Petri, the article’s author, writes:

Some people are complaining that the budget proffered by the Trump administration, despite its wonderful, macho-sounding name, is too vague and makes all sorts of cuts to needed programs in favor of increasing military spending by leaps and bounds. These people are wimps.

Petri continues:

America has been soft and weak for too long. BUT HOW WILL I SURVIVE ON THIS BUDGET? you may be wondering. I AM A HUMAN CHILD, NOT A COSTLY FIGHTER JET. You may not survive, but that is because you are SOFT and WEAK, something this budget is designed to eliminate.

Petri also took aim at the specific cuts:

Environmental Protection Agency: We absolutely do not need this. Clean rivers and breathable air are making us SOFT and letting the Chinese and the Russians get the jump on us.

Either the White House did not read past the headline…or they agree with the content, which is terrifying.

This is especially ironic, given Trump’s constant attacks on the “fake news media” yet his administration posted a satirical article because the headline looked nice? HAHAHAHA! They leak credibility by the hour and given the uproar over Trump tweeting factually-absent accusations against President Obama because Mark Levin and Breitbart said he was a “wire tapppppper,” one would think they would be trying harder to be careful. One would think.

I wonder what dumbass thing they’ll do in the next hour, because it’s definitely coming, just wait.
