Twitter Erupts In Mocking Celebration After Trump Labor Nominee Announces His Withdrawal

Those opposed to Trump can claim another victory, as nominee for Labor Secretary Andrew Puzder announced on Wednesday afternoon he is withdrawing his name from consideration for the position. Puzder, nowhere near as prolific on the Twitter as our Orange Emperor, sent out his first tweet since mid-January with the announcement.

Replies were swift, and beautifully cruel.

Puzder was apparently done in by a desire to avoid addressing old allegations that he beat his ex-wife. This exchange referred to both that and Puzder’s stated desire to replace workers in his restaurants with robots.

And the “Bye, Felicia” memes were plentiful.

This was a definite win for American workers, although Trump could wind up nominating someone just as bad but without the baggage. Puzder’s withdrawal, coming a day after several GOP senators called for an investigation into ex-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn’s Russia ties, suggests that the Senate may not be the mindless rubber stamp for Trump nominations that King Don and his cronies would like.
